仮想と現実、ふたつの空間をゆるやかに重ね合わせることで、いまこの世界が抱える環境の問題に小さな応答ができないかと考えた。仮想空間の中に環境破壊が進む現実の風景をミラーのように切り取り、島として浮かべる。その島を空から見下ろし巡ることで、遠くの出来事が少しずつ手触りを持ちはじめる。島に降り立ち、そこに一本の木を植える。その瞬間、現実の世界でも同じ場所に、一本の苗木が植えられる。仮想空間の中の行為が現実も変化させる。植えられた木は、やがて根を張り、育ち、仮想空間の中でもその変化の様子をたどることができる。
 未来を支えるのは、まず「見ること」からはじまる共感の力なのではないか。この構想には、そうした思いが込められている。

By gently overlapping the realms of the virtual and the real, this project seeks a small response to the environmental issues our world faces today. Within the virtual space, landscapes damaged by environmental destruction are mirrored and floated as islands. By circling and gazing down from above, distant events begin to acquire a tangible presence. When one descends onto an island and plants a tree, a seedling is simultaneously planted in the same location in the real world. Actions in the virtual sphere generate changes in reality. The planted tree eventually takes root, grows, and its transformation can also be traced in the virtual space.
 What sustains the future may be the power of empathy that begins simply with “seeing.” This vision is carried by such a belief.
